How To Locate A Classmate

1. Contact your class representative. Click the Class Reps link then find the class representative for your graduation year.

2. Leave a message for your classmate on the Alumni Message Board.

3. Contact other classmates and network.

4. Contact the parents of your classmate. Parents often continue to reside in or around Jenkintown. Also try parents of other classmates that may still be in contact with the classmate's parents and network through them to the classmate.

5. Contact brothers or sisters of the classmate. The Alumni Association can sometimes help in this area.

We recently located a sister who had graduated 2 years before the classmate being sought. The sister was able to provide the current address and phone number of her brother.

6. Use the Internet (see details below).

7. After you locate your classmate, make sure you and your classmate register on this website.

You are invited to submit additions to this list of suggestions and also e-mail your stories of finding classmates to Peter Berlinger.

How To Locate A Classmate using the Internet

This is an example of how we found a missing classmate from the Class of 1963.

We knew his first and last name and also his middle name but the middle name is not necessary. We knew his wife's first name was Sheran and that he last working in Wisconsin or Minnesota. We knew he was 57.

PART 1

1. Go to the following site:    www2.1800ussearch.com/search/start.cgi?adID=9999990000
2. Type in your classmate's name and age. The age is very important since it will really narrow down your search. It also will help if you know their middle name.   Hit "search".
3. You will get a list of people all over the United States with your classmate's name.
4. We came up with 14 but only 2 were 57 years old. One lived in Saint Paul, Minnesota and the other in Silver Spring, Maryland. We decided to try the one in Saint Paul first. Important: do not go any further on this sight or you will be charged a fee. We want to you to be able to do this for free.

PART 2

5. Next go to www.switchboard.com.
6. We typed in the classmate's name in and typed in the location of Saint Paul, MN. We clicked on "search" and came back with 2 people with our classmate's name. We then took one of them and entered the phone number in the "search by phone #" option tab in the left margin on www.swithboard.com.   We hit "search " and up popped someone with our classmate's name. Listed at the same number was his wife by the name of Sheran. Bingo we hit pay dirt.
7. We also did a search under the government employee web site listed in www.google.com. He was an attorney for the government. He had retired so he was no longer listed at that site.

If you have other method or suggestions please send them to Peter Berlinger and we will communicate them. Good Hunting!!!
